About - Matua Trap are a three-piece progressive rock band from Belfast. Though shrouded in widely diverse influences, their music owes a large rhythmic debt to contemporary 'groove' metal, with an emphasis on odd-yet-danceable time signatures, while taking melodic cues (and a certain spirit) from the alternative rock and pop of the late 90's and early 2000's. It's like Alanis Morissette with riffs.
